In May, we shared with you that the renewable energy organizations Green Empowerment and Asofenix performed an energy audit and feasibility study at Clinica Verde to assess our needs and the potential for renewable energy at the clinic.
We’re thrilled to report that the Christadelphian Meal-a-Day Fund of the Americas has awarded us a grant so that we can follow through on Green Empowerment and Asofenix’s recommendations and install solar at Clinica Verde.
The team will install a 7.875 kilowatt, net-metered solar PV system which will meet a projected 77% of the clinic’s current electricity needs. This system will have no battery bank and will inject electricity directly into the grid. The full process and installation is expected to take 9 months.
We are so delighted and grateful for this show of support from the Christadelphians and thrilled to be working with Green Empowerment and Asofenix to address our energy needs.
We’ll keep you posted!
